Not all beaches work the same with small children. Here's what changes between them.
Check availabilityIt's not just "blue flag". For a family with small children, what matters more is: water entry depth, available shade, active lifeguard service, and distance from parking to the sand.

La Mata beach — 200 m. Children's playground and sports area built into the beach itself. Wide sand, moderate waves, lifeguard service in season. Parking a few metres from the sand. → Full guide
Playa del Cura — 6 km. Described as the most family-friendly in the area, with full services and calmer waters than La Mata.
Playa de los Locos — 4 km. Livelier, with more of a bar scene; less suited if you want calm with small children, better for families with teenagers. → Playa de los Locos
La Mata beach has adapted access and parking, with wooden walkways to the sand — the most practical option for a pushchair, without having to carry it across the sand.
To fill the morning without travelling: Pocoyó Park (300 m), a play area next to the beach itself, useful as a break before or after swimming.
